Kortney Wilson is the co-host and lead designer of HGTV Canada's Making It Home with Kortney & Kenny and the Canadian Screen Awards-nominated Masters of Flip. Known for bringing her creative vision to each renovation, Kortney isn’t afraid to go bold with her design choices and transform a space from unremarkable to inspirational.
Originally from Sudbury, Ontario, Kortney moved to Nashville, Tennessee in her late teens with a record deal soon in hand. Her storybook entrance into country music became a search for a different creative and entrepreneurial outlet as she started a family. Drawn to interior design, but short on cash, Kortney started teaching herself through online guides and magazines as she worked toward her realtor licence. Shortly after, she started an award-winning real estate team and incorporated her passion for interior design into flipping and restoring run-down homes.
Kortney is also passionate about adoption and the arts, particularly dedicating a lot of time to volunteer with The Theater Bug, a Children's community theater in Nashville. Kortney believes, "All kids should have a safe place to express themselves. Theater holds a pretty important place in my heart and I'm grateful to raise funds and help the next generation experience the same."
Now, 18 years in, Kortney has flipped over 160 houses and has been a leading force in revitalizing East Nashville into the hugely desirable neighborhood it is today. She credits her success as a realtor, TV host, author, and entrepreneur—she’s also the creator of home décor line Kort & Co.— to her biggest accomplishment: being a mom to three children and learning to juggle life one day at a time.
