A carpenter’s home is never fully complete – especially when said carpenter is Bryan Baeumler. With a roster of clients keeping Bryan and Sarah busy on Bryan Inc., they still managed to tackle additions to their own home, adding a new barn and an outdoor pizza oven to their property. See how the projects came together, and don’t be surprised when pizza ovens start popping up in more and more backyards this summer!
Barn Burner
Committed to making their family home homey for all resident creatures, Bryan and Sarah built their (future) farm animals a beautiful blue barn.
Halfway There
Originally, the Baeumler barn was meant to be completed in the summertime, but construction was still in progress when the fall rolled around.
Frame It
With the windows installed and framing finished, Sarah and Bryan take in the progress on the barn build.
Winter is Coming
As the end of summer came and went, Bryan realized they need to get a move on if this project was going to get completed before the winter.
Man Power
In light of the time crunch, Bryan puts his right-hand man Adam onto the task of finishing the blue barn.
Our New Barn
Focusing all his attention on the blue barn, Adam is able to complete this cute construction project in good time.
Toasty Tails
Now all the farm animals will have somewhere warm to live when the temperature drops and the snow begins to fall.
Peter Rabbit
Even the rabbits get their own new designer digs with a blue-and-white hutch tucked off to the left.
Animal House
Having a safe, fully fenced area is the first step towards good husbandry – just add water and feed and you’re good to go.
Grain Silo
Bales of hay and sacks of feed are kept out of the rain and frigid temperatures in the Beaumlers’ small, stylish barn.
Summer Project
While the exterior is complete, there is still more to do inside the barn structure, but that might have to wait until next summer.
Check the Perimeter
A chain-linked fence circles the Baeumler barn, so as long as they don’t keep kangaroos the farm animals should stay inside the perimetre.
Doing Rounds
Bryan and Sarah buzz around their family compound checking up on the progress of the ongoing projects throughout the property.
Fire It Up
The second outdoor construction project at the Baeumler place is the pizza oven and charcoal barbequing area.
Pizza Party
A wood-burning pizza oven had been on Bryan’s wish list for a while but Sarah was less than keen.
Mark the Spot
After a heated discussion on where the pizza oven should be (i.e. close to the house or near the fire pit), Sarah and Bryan picked a semi-open spot behind that house.
Moving Day
Bryan and his crew had to move two trees and a couple rows of boxwood hedges to make room for the new pizza-oven/barbeque setup.
Too Many Cooks
After some drama around pouring the concrete and an unforgiving wooden form, the pizza oven really came together.
About Face
“I think the pizza oven and barbeque look amazing,” confirmed Sarah. “I was a little skeptical at it at first but it looks spectacular.”
Home, Sweet Home
While Sarah and Bryan often don’t see eye-to-eye on the specifics of a project, they always come together on the end goal – creating a magical home for their family.
