To be fair, Kortney didn’t host the entire party in her closet, but her gorgeous walk-in was the scene of a festive holiday toast with friends. Kortney and Dave Wilson of ‘Master of Flip’ pulled off their annual holiday bash in just a few short days, without sparing any details. See the creative way they decorated their home, and the delicious, and unusual, foods they served!

An HGTV Holiday Bash
Kortney loves to go all out for the holidays, and transforms almost every room of her home, to encourage guests to mill about and explore. For her living room, she envisioned a dreamy winter wonderland with a tented ceiling. It came together in a pinch, but the result is stunning. Click to the next slide to see the finished result!

Kortney gathered gauzy fabric under the ceiling’s light fixture, and filled it with twinkle lights. It transformed Kortney and Dave’s cozy living room into an elegant ice palace.

While the ceiling makes an immediate impact, Kortney added smaller decor elements to make the transformation complete, like seasonal pillows, icicles hanging from the kitchen pass through, and tons of winter greens layered over the mantel and console table.

For big family parties, it’s great to designate a space for kids to play. Kortney decorated this area with a colour blocked Christmas tree and hanging ornaments to keep it cheery and bright!

It’s that time of year again, when every weekend is double-booked with holiday parties, and it’s no different for HGTV hosts! This year, Masters of Flip‘s Kortney and Dave Wilson left their planning till the eleventh hour, but they still managed to pull off an awesome party for friends and family, complete with creative decor and delicious food! Kortney knew her girlfriends would want a tour of her new walk-in closet, so she decked it out with holiday decor and a festive (and well-stocked) bar cart, and planned a holiday toast to her friends. While not the typical scene of holiday gatherings, Kortney’s closet toast was a sweet way to gather with her closest friends (and show off that impressive shoe collection!). We love how she mixed in personal objects and photos, along with her neatly folded clothing.

Champagne buckets are one of those items that takes up so much storage space, but when the holidays hit, they look so gorgeous on display!

Kitchens typically become the heart of a party, so Kortney ensured food and drink was easily accessible for guests, with glassware beautifully set!

To add a little extra festive cheer, big bunches of white hydrangeas were spread throughout the house. White blooms are a fresh take on holiday florals, and hydrangeas are ideal because they take up more space!

Kortney and Dave picked up on a 2016 foodie trend and served veggie sliders on black buns! This is one of those little details that’ll set a holiday party apart.

Hanging snowflakes are a classic and chic way to dress up a space. They’re perfect over an island, where they won’t get in the way, and help draw eyes to the delicious spread.

Kortney put all of the food out at the start of the party. When guests arrive, hosts can get easily distracted. Forget about replenishing trays throughout the party and just go full throttle!

Dave took on a special project for the party: sourcing a frosty ice sculpture of a snowman! It’s the perfect centerpiece for the dessert table.

When selecting treats for your table, go for desserts with bright, festive colours, like this tasty looking raspberry tart.

Kortney and Dave’s den is already quite cheerful, thanks to that wicked guitar wall, but for their holiday party, Kortney went the extra mile.

Kortney replaced the mirrors over the mantel with a festive message, and rearranged furniture to accommodate one of three Christmas trees in the home!

Pro tip: wrapping gifts early is always a great idea, but especially practical when they can double as decor for a holiday party!

Kortney’s Christmas tree is equal parts natural and glam, with a mix of pine cones, as well as sparkly ornaments.
