30 Rock star Tracy Morgan just sold his New Jersey home – and it cost him a bundle, with reports indicating he lost $1 million on the deal. No biggie for him, though, as he received a huge settlement from Walmart (reportedly $90 million) after being severely injured when his vehicle was struck by one of the store’s trucks. In any case, take a look at the gorgeous home that lost the SNL alum a million bucks.
Home Sweet Home
Morgan recently upgraded from this home in Cresskill, New Jersey, splurging on a $13.9-million, 21,000-square-foot mansion that boasts seven bedrooms, 10 bathrooms and such celebrity-style amenities as an indoor racquetball court, a two-lane bowling alley, a hair salon and an office modelled on Vito Corleone’s study from The Godfather.
Celebrity Starter Home
Morgan placed this more modest home on the market more than a year ago, initially asking $2.25 million. After a series of price reductions, the home finally sold for just $1.2 million, $400K less than the final asking price of $1.6 million – and $1 million less than the $2.2 million the comedian paid for it back in 2011.
Here’s an even more impressive celebrity home, the $8.5M Beverly Hills mansion purchased by Canadian pop star Justin Bieber.
Large and Open
Built in the 1980s on a heavily wooded one-acre lot bordering a six-acre preserve, the contemporary home has a mid-century modern feel, boasting six bedrooms and five-and-a-half baths within 4,485 square feet of interior living space.
Great Room
The great room in the open-concept main level is divided by a stacked-stone fireplace. The room also has plenty of skylights within the 28-foot vaulted ceiling, offering an abundance of natural light.
Chef’s Kitchen
“Be the first to use the brand-new chef’s kitchen that embraces both form and function with custom solid walnut cabinetry, swaths of Alpine granite and state-of-the-art appliances, including an oversized Wolf range with pot filler, integrated Sub-Zero refrigerator, and Miele espresso system and drawer microwave,” notes the listing.
Breakfast Room
The “sunny breakfast room” is adjacent to the kitchen, serving as an informal eating area.
Centre Island
The “massive centre island/breakfast bar,” adds the listing, “provides space for casual dining and conversation with the cook.”
For another celeb home, A Star Is Born‘s Bradley Cooper splurged on this $13.5M NYC townhouse and it’s pretty spectacular.
Dining Room
The large dining room opens from the marble-floored foyer; in the background, a wooden open-tread staircase leads to the second level, where the home’s bedrooms are located.
Master Bedroom
The master bedroom is filled with light thanks to a bank of windows and large overhead transom.
Master Bath
The master bathroom boasts a long, deep whirpool tub, in addition to dual-sink vanity and glass-enclosed shower.
Child’s Bedroom
One of the other three bedrooms located on the second level, this one is ideal for a child.
Morgan’s fellow celeb LeBron James may not be having a great debut season with the LA Lakers, but at least he comes home to this posh $23M Brentwood estate.
Bathroom
One of the home’s five bathrooms, with a glass-doored tub/shower combo.
Service Wing
An adjoining service wing hosts a large laundry room and direct access to the garage.
Office
The service wing also features a staff bedroom, which (as the photo indicates) can also serve as a home office.
Garage
The expansive attached garage can accommodate three cars and also includes a Tesla charging station.
Basement
The basement, where Morgan once installed a massive $400,000 3,500-gallon aquarium tank filled with swimming sharks, also hosts a games room, screening room, carpeted gym (pictured) and climate-controlled wine cellar.
Tracy Morgan’s fellow SNL alum Kristen Wiig recently sold her stunning Hollywood home for $100K over asking.
Sauna
Also located in the basement is this cedar-lined sauna.
