With just ten minutes to spare, you can tackle these simple household tasks, and make a big impact on your home’s appearance and organization. From fluffing pillows to tossing old medication, these tasks take no time at all, but will leave you feeling pretty pumped and accomplished!
Fluff Pillows
In ten minutes, you could probably fluff every pillow in your house! But with just two minutes to spare, you can give your couch a mini makeover with a quick “fluff fluff!”
Organize Shoes
Take ten to organize the shoes hanging around your front door. Arrange them neatly, and take shoes that aren’t part of your normal rotation back to their closet.
Baking Soda in Your Garbage
Between washing out your garbage bin, take a few minutes every couple weeks to sprinkle Baking Soda at the bottom of your bin to cut down on odor.
Plan Your Meals
Take a spare ten minutes each weekend to look at your week ahead and plan out your meals and make a list for grocery shopping, so you’re prepped and ready when you hit the grocery store.
Swap Dish Towels
With a few minutes to spare, you can swap your grubby dish towels for fresh new ones!
Dust Your Plants
Kudos to you if you can remember to water your plants, but we bet you haven’t dusted them in ages. It’s a quick little chore that takes less than ten minutes.
Dust Lampshades
Dust accumulates on lampshades over time, so subtly that you may not even notice it, but it’s there, and it’s gross. Take ten quick minutes to give them a good dusting!
Take a Fridge Inventory
In ten minutes, you can take an inventory of your fridge to see what’s running low and what’s past its prime.
Toss Old Magazines
Do a quick scan of the spines of your magazines to see which ones are months old, and ready for the recycling bin.
Toss Expired Medicine
Here’s an exercise you should aim to do at least once a year. Sorting through old medication and tossing expired contents will not only keep your cabinet organized, it’ll keep your family safe, too!
Shake Out Your Welcome Mat
Shaking out your welcome mat at least once a week will keep it from becoming overly coated in dust and dirt. It’s one of those jobs that if you do it often enough, it won’t be as bad as leaving it for a month.
Sort Through Mail
You picked up the mail, you carried in the mail, maybe you even sorted the mail, and now the mail has been sitting on your counter for a week. It’s time to toss the junk and action item your mail!
Take an Inventory of Your Spices
Take a good hard look at your spice door, toss bottles way past their prime, and make a list of essentials you’re missing.
Sweep the Front Hall
No matter how regularly you clean your home, your front hall can always use an extra sweep.
Wipe Down Counters
Ten minutes is just enough time to do a quick spot check on your counters and give them a good once over.
Car Interior Clean Out
Take ten minutes before your next trip to survey your car and clean out cup holders and side pockets where little bits of garbage tends to accumulate.
Clean Doorknobs
Ten minutes is all you need to give the doorknobs in your house a quick clean. This task is especially important during cold and flu season, when germs linger on just about every surface of your home–eek!
