The Marrs Family Totals Seven Members!

Along with four biological children, Dave and Jenny felt called to adoption, and in 2014, their daughter Sylvie became an official member of the Marrs family after a nearly two-year process. During that two-year wait, Jenny became pregnant with the family’s daughter Charlotte, so it was Dave who travelled to the Congo to bring Sylvie home. Here’s a photo of the moment Sylvie was reunited with Jenny and became an official member of the Marrs family!

The Marrs Family Home is Over 100 Years Old

The Marrs’ family farmhouse was built in 1906, but not where it sits today! Dave and Jenny had the old home transported to an empty plot of land before they started the processing of restoring it. There, they were able to build the fully functioning farm they have today.

Dave and Jenny are passionate about restoring historical homes, so it’s no surprise they jumped in to lend a hand when Ben and Erin Napier took on their biggest makeover ever: the city of Wetumpka!

Their Farm is Home to More Than a Few Furry Friends

The Marrs family farm is home to sheep, goats, cats and dogs, donkeys, and even a few llamas! It’s like growing up on your very own petting zoo (complete with all of the chores!).

Having a busy farm filled with animals wasn’t exactly part of the plan for Dave and Jenny, but when Trixie, a baby lamb, needed a home (and round the clock care), Jenny couldn’t say no. One lamb turned to two, then a third, and then Trixie had a baby of her own. Needless to say, “more is more” is definitely the mantra at the Marrs family farm.

Dave and Jenny Run a Berry Farm That Gives Back

If five kids and a farm filled with animals wasn’t enough, Dave and Jenny Marrs also run The Berry Farm, a pick-your-own blueberry and blackberry farm designed to raise funds for orphaned and at-risk teenage boys in Marondera, Zimbabwe through the Help One Now organization. The Marrs family prides itself on running a berry farm that’s tended to by hand, with zero added chemicals.

Their HGTV Career Almost Didn’t Happen

When Jenny was first scouted by HGTV, she didn’t believe it was real. She was contacted by email and thought it was SPAM. She actually deleted the email! Thankfully, Jenny and Dave made their way into the HGTV family and the rest, as they say, is history!
