This one’s for the renters (though homeowners can get in on the fun too, no one’s going to stop you). Arm yourself with some peel and stick wallpaper and jazz up any room in your pad. You may need a friend to lend helping hands, but it’s totally worth it. Wallpaper adds immense depth and drama to a space, and the patterns we’re sharing are both plentiful and versatile. Scroll down for eye candy!
Fun Flecks
Specks of jewel-bright colour are cheery in this dining room. Terrazzo, as you probably know, has been enjoying a moment, so we’re chuffed to see it in wallpaper form. The paper is removable peel and stick, but the traditional pasted form from Anewall is available, too.
Majestic Mountains
Bathrooms can feel inherently cold because of the hard surfaces. But in this stunning makeover – complete with cool flooring – wood elements and scenic mountain wallpaper invite warmth. The peel-and-stick mural Foggy Hills from Anewall is a digital illustration of the Pacific Northwest.
Home Sweet Home
Quirky and quintessentially Canadian, this wallpaper features house illustrations with trees and deer. The odourless and safe-for-indoors Secluded Neighbourhood Wallpaper from Moose Accents looks amazing in both a contemporary or traditional setting. We like the staircase reveal in the image above – subtle yet gripping.
Bedtime Pick-Me-Up
Designed and made in Quebec, this self-adhesive climbing eucalyptus Meraki wallpaper works beautifully in a boho bedroom. Rusted orange bedding and rattan and pale wood accents are perfect counterpoints to the paper. So fresh!
Whale Tale
If there’s one place guaranteed to look great with wallpaper, it’s the nursery. Kids’ rooms in general can handle some fun, and we’re loving the floating whales by Moose Accents plastered across this cutie-pie space by S.S. Heart’s Laura Lirra, a Victoria, B.C.-based blogger.
Crimson Caper
Zebras in mid-gallop, what more does a wall need? The Masai Red Zebra Safari Scalamandré print from Brewster Wallcoverings’ peel-and-stick division Wall Pops! can easily be repositioned when installing. PS: Scheduling a DIY this weekend? Specialist Katie of Katie’s Wallpaper Installation says the Roman E-Z Hang Peel and Stick Helper will make life much easier.
Delirious Doodles
Cover a wall in perfectly imperfect black Doodle Scallop Peel and Stick Wallpaper by RoomMates for a whimsical look. This illustrative-like pattern looks fabulous in a nursery or children’s bedroom. Such playful punch!
Heads Up!
Pamela Goulden of P.E.I.-based My Practice Home gave her biceps a workout with this mesmerizing ceiling installation showcasing Moose Accents peel-and-stick Boho Abstract Floral Wallpaper. She recommends having a helper to guide the paper into place, since a ceiling application tends to pull down because of gravity as opposed to stick up. It was challenging to match the patterns, too, but the outcome is worth it!
Falling for Plaid
A classic buffalo plaid skirts up the staircase in this home. Now that’s how you make an entrance! The Turquoise Palace + Tempaper Plaid Peel and Stick Wallpaper works brilliantly in a farmhouse setting. Looks equally fabulous in small doses on a dresser, bookcase or stair risers.
Super Swirls
Refresh a wall with a groovy Bohemian Peel and Stick Wallpaper from RoomMates. The easy-to-install paper has a swirly, stamp-like print that’s not overwhelming but still eye-catching.
Citrus Sweet
Bunches of oranges on branches have retro appeal and suit a kitchen beautifully. The Pip & Lo Navy Clementine Garden Peel and Stick Wallpaper is especially nice against black cabinets, but we think it would be a fun look in an anything-goes powder room, too!
Go Leafs!
Made from LEED-certified poly-woven fabric (translation: no stinky smells or toxins), Chasing Paper’s Arugula Spruce self-adhesive wallpaper features an array of bright leaves that’s pretty in a kid’s room. The leaves are actually arugula. How cute! That’s one way to imprint the importance of veggies on the little ones.
