There’s nothing we love more than a gorgeous kitchen makeover, especially when it’s created by the one and only design duo Ben and Erin Napier. Their signature style of southern charm-meets-contemporary cool (with a healthy dose of colour and character, too), makes for memorable kitchen makeovers most homeowners can only dream of. That’s why we’ve rounded up our favourite renovations to help inspire your kitchen daydreams. (It was a pleasure!)

The Sun Also Rises in This Kitchen
This backsplash tile was one of Erin’s most unique choices for a kitchen renovation, but the risk totally paid off. The sun-inspired tile instantly brightens the room and balances the dark floors (who needs their morning cup of Joe when you’ve got a tile like that to greet you each day?). The warm tones also pair beautifully with the mint green cabinets, island and built-in breakfast nook. It’s just another example of how to execute colour in a kitchen without going overboard.

Erin’s Enviable Green Kitchen
This kitchen proves how one clever design choice can create a world of character. The emerald green island is gorgeous, and pulls the entire room together. We love how Erin balanced the rich jewel-tone colour with rustic elements, like the metal range over the stove, the pendant lights and the French country cross back chairs. On their own, they’re quite simplistic features, but all together, it’s a kitchen that has us feeling green with envy!

Ben and Erin Napier’s Kitchen
How could we talk about Ben and Erin’s most memorable kitchen makeovers without including their very own kitchen? Though the space is small, it’s beautifully executed, with naturally treated wood cabinets, accents of copper and gold, and a colourful statement door. We can just imagine the fun Ben and Erin have in this relaxed, family kitchen with their sweet daughter Helen!

Ben and Erin Napier’s Most Luxurious Kitchen Renovation
This preppy, Cape Cod-inspired home renovation included one of Ben and Erin’s most expensive kitchen makeovers, for a cost of $50,000. The generous budget allowed Erin to splurge on a quartz countertop flecked with gorgeous gold veining. She paired it with a soft, dove grey island, and rustic counter chairs to bring the look down to Earth (the kitchen was for a young family, after all, so Erin made sure to keep the luxe factor in check). See the entire home renovation (which racked up a budget of $140,000!).
A Kitchen Makeover to Cure the Blues
When neighbours need a spare cup of sugar, they know just where to go. The robin’s egg blue cabinetry in this kitchen is too sweet for words! Erin’s choice of a rattan pendant light over the island contrasts beautifully with the blue, and gives the room a true beach vibe. (Neighbours will come for the sugar, and stay for the Mai Tais!)
We’ve Got a Case of Cabin Fever for This Kitchen
For this kitchen makeover, Erin drew inspiration from the cabin’s surrounding landscape. A moss green paint on the cabinets looks serene and fresh against all of the natural wood in the home. But truth be told, it’s the extra long island that has our heart racing: it’s perfect for setting up drinks and hors d’oeuvres for a casual get together. See more of this dramatic renovation in the woods (the cabin was inhabited by wildlife before Ben and Erin Napier got their hands on it!).
The Ultimate Kitchen #Shelfie
The mint green butler’s pantry in this kitchen was the very reason the homeowner purchased the property, but when she did, it was hidden behind a wall. Erin and Ben made it the focal point by demolishing the wall in front of it and painting it a statement shade to stand out against the cream cabinetry. Now it’s the ultimate spot for showcasing a collection of dishware and decorative pieces. There’s no rule against decor in the kitchen after all!
What’s Better Than One Island?
When we saw this kitchen makeover by Erin and Ben, with not one but two kitchen islands, our jaws dropped (and not for the plentiful fruit basket). With two kitchen islands, there are separate areas for messy meal prep and a neatly set space for dining. It also gives the feel of a professional restaurant kitchen (hey, our food may not taste like haute cuisine, but whose to say our kitchen can’t look the part?).
(Southern) Charmed by This Mid-Century Modern Kitchen
Ben and Erin Napier took cues from “Mad Men” for this mid-century modern kitchen, incorporating black walnut on the island and floating shelves, and dropping in sparse muted accent colours on the vintage-inspired pendant lights, and the moody blue kitchen tile. Mix up an old fashioned and we’d happily stay for dinner (but we’ll skip the 1950s JELL-O salad).
Tastes Like Home
This kitchen contained a lot of memories for Erin (she designed the makeover for her uncle Danny, who’d bought the house after it had once belonged to their cousin Kit). She wanted to foster the feelings of togetherness that had permeated the original room during family functions, without actually calling the design to mind (it was worse than a bad family reunion). She pulled from the original colour palette, tweaking the shades for a more modern combination of sage green and raw wood. With a subtle grey backsplash, and a gorgeous harvest table acting as an island, the room feels warm and welcoming, an ideal space for cousins, uncles and aunts to all cram in together.
Bigger Isn’t Always Better
This kitchen may not compare to the $50,000 renovations Ben and Erin work on, but the use of space, and overall design is just as impressive! This teeny tiny kitchen fits snuggly in the Napier’s airstream, and houses all the family needs for on-the-go meals. It may not be our dream kitchen, but it’s definitely a kitchen we’ll never forget!
