Get ready IKEA lovers! The highly anticipated IKEA store in Scarborough Town Centre (AKA STC) finally has an opening date. After the success of the Swedish furniture chain’s downtown Toronto location, IKEA Canada has revealed its second small-store location will open its doors on Wednesday, August 23, 2023. When is the Grand Opening?
On August 23, the first customers can visit STC at 8:30 am for celebrations at the store’s entrance within the shopping centre, while doors will officially open to the public at 9 am. The new store will also welcome all customers in the neighbourhood and around the city who join “Scarborough Link Up” and the IKEA Family Loyalty Program.
How Large is the New IKEA Store?
STC’s IKEA boasts 7,489 square metres of shopping space, and it will carry more than 2,500 products, plus the iconic Swedish deli food restaurant – hej, köttbulle! (that’s Swedesh for hello, meatballs!).

The store will also have the same traditional one-way flow layout that’s seen at larger IKEA locations. Plus, you can find digital tools and a dedicated Planning Hub where you can discuss inspirational ideas for your next home project or remodel.

What is the IKEA Family Loyalty Program?
During the grand opening, customers have a chance to win awesome prizes and gift cards. Shoppers can do so by signing up for the free IKEA Family Loyalty Program before entering the doors. With “Scarborough Link Up”, eager customers are rewarded for lining up before doors actually open.
