As an interior designer, convincing your client to trust in the process is an underappreciated skill. Clients only get to see small swatches and slabs that will make up the design of whole rooms. All the anticipation and hopes sometimes bring out mid-project freak outs. Luckily, while Ali Budd was designing a home from scratch for a friend, managing panic was just another part of the job. From a luxe marble kitchen to an archway moment, and even paneling drama, Ali and her team trusted the process and created a high-end sanctuary.

Arch (Not So) Enemies
Aside from the luxe marble kitchen you can see in the video reveal, one of the most striking features of this home was the three archways. These create a stunning moment between the spaces on the main floor. However, that was one moment that almost didn’t happen. During the initial drywalling phase, the client felt unsure of how the arches would turn out. Thankfully, Ali fought for her vision and now the client’s home has that much more character and intrigue.

Panel Professional
For the little bit of money that applied paneling costs, it can take a room from bland to grand. Nevertheless, it still requires an expert eye to create the most striking designs. Even a small detail can become a significant nuisance if you see it every day, which is why it was crucial for Ali to execute this detail flawlessly—and she accomplished precisely that.
