Renovation Resort Team: April and Arnold

Both April and Arnold grew up in South Side Chicago. These two dynamic entrepreneurs hope to win over the judges and emphasize to the Black community that anything is possible. Working together for the past four years, running successful Black-owned businesses, they are living proof that hard work and perseverance pays off. April is a retired US Air Force Reservist having served for over 21 years in the military. A single mother of 3, she is the first College graduate and business owner in her family, and now co-runs a design firm that focuses on classic, quality designs. Arnold is a self-taught techie and builder. He learned the value of hard work from his grandfather and uncle and channeled that inspiration into opening his own contracting firm in 2018. Arnold regularly works with Black youth in his community in the hope of continuing to break barriers for racialized contractors.
