At $3 Million, the World’s Most Expensive RV Hits the Road in Style

With a $3-million price tag that is not for the faint of heart, the EleMMent Palazzo Superior RV from Austria-based Marchi Mobile is a 45-foot-long recreational vehicle that is in a league of its own, loaded with a mind-blowing array of lavish luxury features.

There’s a large skylight overhead and special lighting features that come alive at night. There are also electric sliding doors throughout the interior, not unlike Star Trek‘s Starship Enterprise.

Don’t think of the EleMMent Palazzo Superior as an RV, but as a yacht with wheels, complete with this mission-control centre in the “cockpit.” Note the unique “panoramic, helicopter-like windshield,” boasting a specially designed tri-blade windshield wiper.

There’s also a large lounge area that’s built for relaxation. All told, the $3M RV boasts an impressive 732 square feet of living space – far larger than most of the houses profiled in HGTV Canada’s Tiny House Hunters.

Billed as the “most outstanding motorhome to date,” the company declares that the vehicle’s unique design “speaks for itself” and combines “features from the worlds of motor sports, aviation and yachting to create a singular masterpiece.”

A hidden staircase can be dropped down with the push of a button, revealing instant access to the upper level, where the master bedroom and adjacent bathroom are located.

You had better believe there’s a master bedroom, and it’s far more spacious than what we’re used to seeing in an RV, big enough to accomodate a king-size bed and a fireplace. Yes, a fireplace!

Like the bedroom, the master bathroom has plenty of room, and hosts a larger-than-you’d-imagine walk-in shower, as well as a generous sink and towel storage.

Despite all of the RV’s impressive features, easily the most awe-inspiring is the Sky Lounge, a pop-up rooftop cocktail bar that boasts underfloor heating and iextravagant marble lighting.

Designed by the famed German industrial designer Luigi Colani – whose bulbous design esthetic has been embraced by such European car manufacturers as Fiat, Alfa Romeo and BMW – the EleMMent Palazzo Superior is built on a Volvo chassis and a 510-horsepower Volvo diesel-powered engine.

Some of the vehicle’s other luxury features include an 18-foot wide automated awning that opens to reveal a barbecue station, with its own refrigerator along with a 40-inch weatherproofed TV and speaker system.

At that price, you can be certain the vehicles undergo rigourous testing, which is just what you’d expect from a motor home that strives to be the four-wheeled equivalent of a Gulfstream jet.
