Before: Cold Tiles Are Hard on Heads
The couple’s boys love to wrestle in the basement on a piece of carpet but the tile floor underneath is hard and cold.
After: Child-Friendly Flooring

Before: High-Traffic Stairway
David and Daniela really want their children to enjoy going down into their new playspace and ask Bryan to make it a safe and inviting area for them to enjoy for years to come.

Bryan gets David to help install new stair treads and decides to install a glass plate under the railing to keep the area bright and open. The mouse house for the kids under the stairs can also be accessed by a grown-up sized door.

Daniela tells Bryan the storage in the activity area is old and the children can’t even open the drawers themselves because they’re so heavy. She would love a child-friendly storage system in the new space.

The new storage is super child-friendly. Large doors conceal floor to ceiling shelves that can be easily accessed. The activity centre table is great for little ones.

Before Bryan starts demolition of walls, he is concerned about the textured wall he sees. Tests confirm there is no asbestos but he finds it’s a concrete wall, which can’t come down. So he comes up with the next-best thing…

What family of three little boys wouldn’t want a climbing wall of their own? Bryan makes sure to place the footholds low down for little bodies and makes easy climbing paths for the kids to try.

The footholds and fingerholds are easily screwed into the wall. Bryan starts off with the footholds low to the ground but can be moved higher as the boys grow.
