Celine Dion and her late husband Rene Angelil placed their Florida mansion on the market in 2013, originally asking $72 million. Seven years later, the oceanfront home has finally sold for a reduced price of $38.5 million. It includes 14 bedrooms, a golf simulator and a wild backyard water park that features two swimming pools, a pair of water slides, water cannons and more.
Dion’s Florida Gem
Celebrated Quebec-born chanteuse Celine Dion and husband Rene Angelil (who passed away in 2016) purchased two side-by-side waterfront properties in Jupiter, Florida, back in 2008, completely razing the buildings and constructing this brand new home, sparing no expense to create the ultimate beach getaway on the 5.7-acre oceanfront lot.
Inspired by the Bahamas
The Bahamian-style mansion was built with multiple glass windows throughout in order to provide an open, airy feel while taking full advantage of the spectacular beachfront view.
Beyond Spacious
Construction of the home was completed in 2010, with the 20,000-square-foot home boasting 13 bedrooms, 14 bathrooms and the kind of amenities you’d expect to see in the grand home of one of the world’s most beloved entertainers. This expansive dining room features sliding glass doors offering easy access to the outdoor pool deck.
Kitchen
The massive kitchen opens to a family room featuring a wall of windows, with the open-concept space separated by a massive island with a built-in oven and stovetop.
Dining Areas
The kitchen island doubles as a comfy seating area, and opens to a breakfast nook with banquette.
Butler’s Pantry
The home’s so-called butler’s pantry, adjacent to the home’s open-concept kitchen, is larger than most kitchens, offering additional storage and cooking facilities, and for all intents and purposes serving as a second kitchen.
Family Room
The design of the family room, seen from the vantage of the kitchen, sets a television and fireplace within a bank of floor-to-ceiling windows that overlook the beach.
Master Bedroom
The home’s master bedroom features a wall of windows overlooking the Atlantic ocean, and French doors that exit to a private deck.
Unobstructed View
The master bedroom boasts a flatscreen TV mounted in the angled ceiling to ensure the spectacular ocean view remains perfectly unobstructed – and absolutely perfect!
Celine’s Closet
This custom-designed walk-in closet is utterly spectacular, including such features as a mechanized shoe rack that can store 500 pairs of shoes. There’s also a gown room with an automated carousel, display cabinets for perfume and sunglasses, and a bank of drawers that doubles as a jewelry safe, accessible via a high-tech finger pad.
Master Bathroom
A deep, freestanding soaking tub sits at the centre of the master bathroom, which also includes a mirrored vanity and huge walk-in shower outfitted with a Kartell Ghost chair from designer Philippe Starck.
Another Bedroom
Another of the home’s multiple bedrooms, this one features an adjacent sitting room and, beyond that, an ensuite bathroom. Shuttered doors allow outside light to flood into the room while also providing privacy.
A Cozy Spot
Although the home itself is beyond massive, there are also some cozy spots such as this sunny children’s room, ideal for curling up with a good book. A French door opens to the pool and, beyond that, the glorious sandy beach.
Pool
The rear of the house is dominated by the huge swimming pool, along with the kind of features normally found only in water parks.
Guest House
Opposite the main house on the other side of the pool is a huge mansion-sized guest house, also reflecting a Bahamian influence.
Water Park
A fire pit is the focus of this lovely outdoor seating area set within the pool, with the slides and water park features seen in the distance.
Pavilions
In addition to the main house and the guest house, the pool is surrounded by several pavilions, each serving a unique purpose, such as a tennis house that features a simulated golf range.
A River Runs Through it
This man-made river winds its way through the main house and the pavilions, leading to the pool and the water park area, which boasts water slides and water-spraying guns.
Another Pool
Along with a man-made beach (just in case one doesn’t feel like making the short trek to the actual beach), here’s another of the home’s many pools, situated to take full advantage of the oceanfront view.
