As we (tentatively) enter 2021, it’s safe to assume that many of us designers, DIYers and decor aficionados are searching for soft and soothing palettes to introduce into our personal spaces. What better way to counter all that negative energy, right? Luckily for us, Pantone is giving us not one but two Colours of the Year – and we gotta say: we’re in love with this winning combo. Want to integrate these colour palettes into your decor? We’ve rounded up a few ideas to help you bring the trendiest colours into your home.

Say Hello to Flint Gray
Last year was all about the PANTONE 19-4052 Classic Blue – but designers and DIYers were treated to two colour trends for 2021. According to Behr’s trend report, PANTONE PPU26-05 Flint Gray is the soothing palette we need heading into the new year. Since many of us are still working from home, consider this shade for your home office. And revisit last year’s blue-hued colour trend, too.
Also Say Hello to Radiant Sun
To complement the Flint Gray, Behr also suggests PANTONE P310-6 Radiant Sun to add a vibrant pop of colour to any space, such as an accent wall in the bedroom. As Behr colour expert Erika Woelfel pointed out, “We all know [2020] has been a challenging year, and in many ways, colour and design trends tend to be representative of our cultural experience. Choosing this dichotomy of colours that simultaneously contrast and complement each other is so beautifully representative of what the world is going through – good and bad. [They] reflect the spectrum of emotions we’ve collectively experienced and provide a springboard of hope for where we would like to be in 2021.”
Take a Seat

The furniture giant released their own trend report highlighting all their best-selling furnishings and decorative items in stock that feature a palette that aligns with Radiant Sun and Flint Gray. Happy shopping! Janinge Chairs, IKEA, $80.
