Step 1: Make the Yarn Pom Poms
The first step is to make pom poms, which will become the animal’s ears. Wrap your yarn around your hand or on a small piece of cardboard until you achieve your desired pom pom size. Slide the yarn off very carefully and then tie an extra piece of yarn tightly around the centre. Cut the loops on both sides and then fluff up your pom pom to make it extra big. You will need two pom poms per animal basket.

Step 2: Craft the Animal’s Features
For this DIY, let’s go with two different types of animals for our wicker baskets: dogs and cats. Grab your favourite colour felt sheets and cut out a nose, smile and whiskers. Get creative mixing and matching colours to ensure your animals are colourful. Then, add the fun googly eyes as the eyes of your animal using your hot glue gun. You’ll glue the felt facial features to the baskets next!
Step 3: Add Finishing Touches to the Baskets
Using your crazy glue or hot glue gun, attach the animal’s pom poms ears, nose, smile, whiskers (for the cats) and anything else required to make your animal’s face adorable. If necessary, you can add additional crazy glue to secure them. Then, allow the glue to dry completely.
