Diwali, also known as the Festival of Lights, is the most important and widely-observed holiday for Hindus around the world and this year it falls on November 12, 2023. While the history slightly varies depending on the region of India you come from, one thing remains true: this festival symbolizes the victory of “light over darkness” or “good over evil.” Those who are celebrating typically adorn their homes with a variety of lights (referred to as “diyas”) and vibrant decor (known as “rangoli”).
