I’m a huge fan of typography and have always loved board games – this project combines the two! These over-sized Scrabble pieces add a bit of quirkiness to any space.
Materials:
- Pine wood plank from the hardware store: 2x6x8
- Pencil
- Black permanent marker
DIY:
STEP 1: Have your hardware store cut the piece of wood into 6 inch pieces so that you are left with a 6 x 6-inch square of wood for each letter.
STEP 2: Copy the characters from a Scrabble set and sketch each letter out out on the wood using the pencil.
STEP 3: When you are pleased with the results, trace over with the permanent marker. Set aside to dry. Erase any visible pencil lines.
STEP 4: If you choose to hang the Scrabble pieces, simply add some picture hanging hardware on the back.
