Finding a home that ticked all the boxes for this detail-loving client was always going to be a tall order, but the Property Brothers managed to pull it off. And they even captured the coastal vibes the client had been dreaming of, all thanks to one key colour: coral!
By Design
For years, Carson, a pharmacist in Nashville, has been compiling a design binder stuffed with ideas for her ultimate, future living space.
Wall E
An open-concept main living area was Carson’s number-one priority for her new home. To make it happen in this once-cramped townhouse, walls had to come down.
Hot Tip
When Carson’s lease expired at her old apartment, she moved into her friend Leah’s guestroom. It was Leah who got the tip that one of her neighbours was thinking of selling their townhome.
Location, Location, Location
The neighbourhood had everything Carson wanted: it’s right next to her work at the hospital, there’s a park down the street for her dog Delta, and it’s only a few doors over from Leah.
Far From Perfect
But with its pokey rooms, galley kitchen and cramped dining areas, the townhouse was not the bright, airy home she’d been cutting and pasting into her inspiration book for years.
Dream Big
While Drew got her the townhouse before it even went on the market for US $290K, Jonathan put together a renovation plan that would get Carson that dreamy, coastal-inspired home she’d been willing into existence.
Free to Be Me
Tired of sharing Leah’s galley-style kitchen, Carson really wanted a standalone island where she and her guests (and dog Delta) could freely move around the cooking and dining areas.
White Out
As an advocate for organization, having floor-to-ceiling storage options was also a must for this Property Brothers client, which Jonathan gave her in spades (and in a nice bright white).
Ask and You Shall Receive
These glass pendant lamps, which are hanging over the kitchen bar, had been featured in Carson’s inspiration book – Jonathan sourced and installed the exact same design.
Transformative Experience
With 1,200 sq. ft. to work with, Jonathan was able to merge his vision for Carson’s townhouse with the design ideas she had been collecting for years and turn the space into something special.
Topping it Off
Gleaming white countertops had always been on her kitchen wish list and with a US $105-renovation budget, they became a reality for this happy Property Brothers client.
Making a Splash
Sometimes a design client just needs to trust and let go, which is exactly what Carson did when Jonathan suggested this white-marble tile backsplash. Hesitant at first, she now loves this modern twist on a classic material.
Keeping Options Open
Having multiple dining areas – two breakfast bars and an eating nook – gives this Nashville professional the entertaining options she was missing in her previous homes.
Come to Life
Carson’s design-idea binder was full of fun, bold colours, which have now jumped right out of the pages and into reality in her fully renovated living space.
Colour Wheel
Carson wanted bright, beachy colours and Jonathan listened: “I think I’m in shock right now that this is my house.”
Coral Reef
Right off the kitchen is a sweet, sea-themed powder room, which features coral-printed wallpaper and a size-conscious pedestal sink.
Manifest Destiny
Carson asked the Property Brothers to turn a ho-hum town home into a coastal-inspired, open-concept space ideal for entertaining friends…and that’s exactly what she got.
Bring it On
When Carson first walked into her finished home, she was blown away with how the Brothers interpreted her ideas: “I’ve been looking at this on paper for years…this is it!”
Contrast King
To get Carson that airy, beach vibe, Jonathan picked bright accents, which stood out against the neutral-coloured walls and classic wood flooring.
Bottoms Up
With a major seven-week renovation done, now all that’s left for Carson to do is sit back, open a bottle of red and fill her new home with friends and family.
