When Jesse Tyler Ferguson and co. moved that bus to reveal what they’d built for the Mosley family after a major house demolition, it really was a dream come true. You see, single mom Jessica followed her heart when she adopted three siblings and became a mother-of-five. But when her own father suddenly passed away and she lost her family home, the only solution was to move the entire family in with her mother-where the two ladies shared a bed. A Secret Haven
Of course Jessica and her mom don’t have to be too far from each other-the designers built their new bedrooms so that they face each other on the main floor, and are separated by an idyllic terrace, complete with a water feature and outdoor tiles. All they need is a cup of coffee and a the scene for a peaceful Sunday morning is set.

A Serene Family Space
The floorplan was made to give all seven family members lots of room to stretch out, but also to come together and congregate-this is a crew that likes to spend time together, after all. So the team made sure to include lots of seating and storage solutions, while also giving the space an airy and modern feel.

A Smart Fridge That Does All the Things
Since the kitchen is the heart (or hub) of every home, the design crew thought it would be a good idea to give the Mosleys some top-notch technology in theirs. In conjunction with Best Buy they installed a smart fridge complete with a camera that lets you see inside while you’re shopping (to make sure you’re not forgetting anything), and a functional screen to add everything from important calendar dates to family reminders and notes.
A Double Island
Jesse Tyler Ferguson called in the big guns to help the crew with the kitchen design: Food Network star Tyler Florence. Most people know that he can whip up a mean meal, but he’s also quite accomplished with kitchen design. He suggested using the extra space in the kitchen to add a second island, so that one spot can be designated for prep and the other becomes an area where people can congregate. Not a bad idea, considering the size of this fam-jam.

A Beautiful New Laundry Room
The kitchen isn’t the only room in the house that was outfitted with smart appliances-the Mosleys also got a killer new laundry room with a top-notch washer and dryer that they can control from their phones. Also in there? A pantry to help keep all of their things organized, lots of cupboard space, and an extra wide sink. Don’t you wish all laundry rooms could be this bright and cheerful?
A Space for Everyone
While Jessica’s son finally got his own room after years of sharing with his sisters, the girls all got their own room “nooks” thanks to some genius wall dividers with built-in shelves. They’re a genius way to keep this tight-knit family close while allowing everyone to have their own independence, making this the perfect Mosley family home from top to bottom.
