One of classic television’s most well-known houses has hit the market. Priced at $2,999,000, the exterior of this Los Angeles home famously doubled for the fictional Florida abode shared by Dorothy, Blanche, Rose and Sophia on the beloved sitcom The Golden Girls. While the exterior may look familiar, the inside of the real-life house is very different from what viewers saw on TV – and it’s an incredible ode to mid-century luxury.

‘The Golden Girls’ House
“Architecture, location and a slice of Hollywood history!” is how the listing describes this mid-century home that was originally constructed in 1955. While the front facade was used in establishing shots for The Golden Girls, the interior of the TV home was actually filmed inside a soundstage (not at the house).

House of Glass
Arguably the most distinctive feature of the home is its rear face, which is entirely floor-to-ceiling glass. Just imagine how much glass cleaner The Golden Girls would have gone through had they actually lived in this place!

Divine Dining Room
The dining room opens to the backyard via a sliding glass door that connects the entire room to the outdoors. The dining area also opens to the living room, but it can be closed off with a Japanese-inspired sliding shoji screen.
