Adios, violet! Pantone’s Colour of the Year for 2019 is Living Coral (Pantone 16-1546), a juicy, joyful pink-orange. As the company tells us, this is a “nurturing colour that appears in our natural surroundings” (think gorgeous craggy sea coral), as well as “a lively presence within social media.” Whether online or at home, all we can say is: bring on the brightness!
Blanket Statement
The cushy throw on the top of this pile is an easy way to add a touch of coral to your home. Toss the throw on the sofa to keep your feet toasty throughout the winter – the spring-like hue is not only on-trend but also a reminder of warmer days ahead.
Chenille Rib Throw, $39.
Scale the Wall
Exotic, colourful fish glide through brackish water in Graham & Brown’s brilliant new Flow Black wallpaper. The UK purveyor offers some of the most covetable coverings we’ve ever seen, and this new one is perfect if you like your coral in small doses. No need to cover an entire wall in salmon.

Mix Master
Did you know KitchenAid’s colour of the year for 2018 was Bird of Paradise? The company created a line of coral-coloured appliances, from a hand blender to its iconic stand mixer. We like this beauty – whack a bunch of frozen pineapples into this sassy-hued unit and get blitzing!
KitchenAid Diamond Blender, $95.
Neat Seats
This is one beautifully coordinating dining room! And it all begins with coral – from the beachy striped rug to the fresh bouquet of flowers and those faux bamboo chairs, it is sheer perfection. Be sure to add wood and rattan elements that play perfectly against the pinky-orange hue.
Homesense Coral Dining Chairs, starting at $200.
Sofa, So Good
If you’re ecstatic coral is getting its due, then don’t be shy about it. Make a statement with a large piece of furniture such as this stylish looker from Stylegarage. Plus, buyers will receive 15% off this sofa until January 27 when they bring in three non-perishable items as part of the Keep on Giving event that helps local food banks.
Stylegarage Nexus Modular Sectional, $1,365 (Armless Chair) and $2,245 (Chaise Longue).

Bite Me Bath Mat
Sweet! A fruity bath mat is exactly the fun-making accessory you need in your home during the winter. Coral, orange, yellow, green, black – who could ask for anything more? Well, maybe a hilarious, matching shower curtain to round out the look.
