Jenny from the block just moved to a way nicer block than the one she sings about now that she’s purchased a 17,000-square-foot Bel-Air mansion that boasts, among other features, an art studio, miniature golf course and private lake with a sandy beach. By Brent Furdyk
Magnificent Mansion
Previously owned by actress Sela Ward (‘CSI: NY’), this massive mansion in ultra-posh Bel-Air sits on a sprawling eight-acres estate.
French Country Refuge
Located in a secluded wooded area surrounded by trees and foliage and including it’s own babbling brook, the home’s style is described as “French Country Refuge.”
Price Reduced!
Previous owner Ward – who is pulling up roots and relocating to New York City – was originally asking a whopping $40 million when she first put the place on the market in September 2015. JLo reportedly picked it up for a relatively inexpensive $28 million.
Bridge Over Bubbling Water
Even entering the house is romantic, by walking across a a covered bridge spanning a babbling brook on the way to the front door.
13,000 Square Feet
The main house was originally built in 1940, and boasts a hefty 13,000 square feet of living space.
Rustic Charm
Many of the original features of the original 1940s construction are still in place (including these wooden window frames), which clearly appealed to the new Princess of Bel-Air.
What DOESN’T This Place Have?
What does JLo’s new home have? What DOESN’T it have? Along with seven bedrooms and 13 bathrooms, there’s also a 30-seat screening room, a private library and even an art studio. And if Jenny from the block ever feels like bustin’ a move, she can do it onstage at her own private 100-seat amphitheater.
Upstairs, Downstairs
The home’s and the upper level incorporates a suite of offices and a library that leads to a master suite with his-and-her dressing rooms. And check out those iron-framed French doors!
Gone Swimming
A family room and a separate game room open to an elevated terrace that contains a three-sided, infinity-edged swimming pool.
Life’s A Beach
When the infinity pool becomes dreary, JLo can head to her own private sandy beach to take a swim in her very own lake – and when she emerges, she can enjoy a cocktail at this private beach bar.
Pine Floors
The completely customized home’s 100-year-old heart pine floors are truly stunning.
Six Fireplaces
When those So-Cal nights get chilly, JLo can warm up in front of one of the home’s six fireplaces. That’s right – SIX fireplaces!
One Cool Kitchen
The kitchen boasts French limestone countertops, and check out the amazing iron-framed window and greenhouse-style skylight that floods the room with sunshine.
Formal Dining
The formal dining room wouldn’t have been out of place in ‘Downton Abbey’.
Bathrooms Galore
One of the home’s 13 bathrooms, this one boasts a sensational soaker tub, with glass doors exiting to a private patio.
Post-Bath Bliss
An outdoor relaxation setup, perfect for relaxing after coming out of the bath.
Outdoor Entertaining
An outdoor entertaining area has its own kitchen.
The Great Outdoors
Much of the home’s charm is in its foliage-filled outdoor spaces, offering numerous areas for unwinding.
Park-Like Grounds
The stunning park-like grounds will clearly require a lot of maintenance. Good thing Lopez’s NBC cop show ‘Shades of Blue’ was renewed for a second season.
Guest House
A cozy guest house, hidden amidst the trees.
Fore!
Another perk of being JLo: being able to play miniature golf whenever she wants. There’s also a putting green if she wants to get serious about taking strokes off her short game.
