For a few million, you can own a bona fide piece of rock ‘n’ roll real estate. The secluded former home of Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain and rocker Courtney Love officially went on the market for $7.5 million this month. This marks the first time the 117-year-old home in the Denny-Blaine neighbourhood of Seattle, Washington has been up for sale since Love sold it back in 1997 – a mere three years after Cobain took his own life at the property in 1994. Situated on three-quarters of an acre, the pristine property is within walking distance of Lake Washington and provides plenty of stunning views. So, come as you are and take a peek at the home of grunge rock royalty.
Come as You Are
Built in 1902, the four-bedroom, 8,000-square-foot lakefront home was designed in the Queen Anne style, featuring ornate millwork and pristine lawns. As the listing states, it’s a “perfectly maintained home of extraordinary presence situated upon a beautiful, park-like lot” with “gracious rooms enhanced by an open floor plan and fine millwork.”
In Bloom
The home sits on more than three-quarters of an acre only a block away from Lake Washington while providing plenty of shade in the leafy, perfectly manicured backyard overlooking the water.

Although the real estate firm has not released any interior photos, there’s no denying this lakefront property is a stunner. According to county records, a detached garage was added in 2000. It remains unclear what other renovations or additions have been made since the home exchanged hands from Love to its current owner.
