Step One: Cut the Flowers
First, cut the flowers using a Cricut Maker machine, designing a continuous petal technique to make the blooms, which consists of a strip of crepe paper cut with a fringe that you will later shape and glue together.
Attach a piece of crepe paper to the Cricut light grip cutting mat, and secure the ends with painter’s tape, making sure the paper won’t move during the cutting process.
Note: if you don’t own a Cricut machine, this step can be done manually using a pair of scissors ,experimenting with different shapes and fringes.
Step Two: Create the Flowers
Layer all the cut crepe paper petals and weave the excess carefully. You will repeat this process with all the flowers you cut.
Then firmly wrap the strip of petals and start adding hot glue around your forming bloom. With any excess crepe paper you have around, cut a strip and create your stamen. Attach a pipe cleaner to the back with the hot glue and repeat this process for each flower.
