At the same time the world marked the four-year anniversary of his shocking death last month, Prince’s former home was quietly put back on the market for a whopping $30 million. The expansive property boasts plenty of Hollywood lore, including the time when Prince famously painted the gorgeous property in bold purple stripes shortly after renting it from NBA star Carlos Boozer. Perched on a hill close to the intersection of Beverly Hills and Sunset Strip, the mansion, which has since been repainted, harkens back to the days of Old Hollywood when former owner Elizabeth Taylor once walked the property. After having passed through so many celebrity hands, who could resist a peek inside?

Baby, I’m a Star
The 18,000-square-foot estate perched on a hill was built back in 1953 for self-made millionaire Hal Braxton who wanted a place where he could both entertain guests and hide from nuclear bombs during the Cold War. The six-level “bachelor pad” has changed ownership many times since it’s initial creation, acquiring plenty of fascinating anecdotes along the way. You can also peek inside Prince’s one-time Toronto mansion.
Let’s Go Crazy
According to multiple sources, NBA player Carlos Boozer rented out the property to Prince shortly after purchasing it in the early 2000s. When he later returned unexpectedly from an away game due to an injury, Boozer caught wind of the fact that The Purple One not only replaced the gold lions at the front gate with his famous purple symbol, but the singer had also made not-so-minor tweaks to the interior – including purple carpeting, a dance floor and a hair salon. Prince was later sued, but Boozer later retracted the paperwork.
