The Property Brothers Reveal What People Don’t Know About Them

“A lot of people still don’t know that Jonathan is an illusionist,” says Drew. “He was actually ranked third best in North America on the competitive circuit when he was 16 years old.”

“Drew is obsessed with accessories,” says Jonathan. “When he travels, he has like 18 different watches. And same thing with socks and ties and all that stuff. He goes on the road with more than that stuff than anybody I’ve ever known.”

And he doesn’t just love it, Drew reveals. “He has an unhealthy obsession.”

“He took lessons from a ping pong master for like four years, because Drew doesn’t believe in reinforcing bad habits,” reveals Jonathan. “So, anything he’s going to do, he takes lessons to make sure that he’s the best at it. That goes for golf, for dancing, for singing, everything.”

“Jonathan is a puzzle nerd. Jonathan just loves old school puzzles,” says Drew. “He just got another one that’s a thousand-piece puzzle and every time I see him, he is working on it.”

“He also loves unique chess boards,” Drew reveals. “Like something that isn’t your typical chess game.”

“He is a secret romantic,” says Jonathan. “Now that he’s been with Linda for quite some time, he’s always planning these cute little things. Maybe he hears that there’s a special, like a Dr. Seuss exhibit somewhere. He’ll actually take Linda and they’ll fly in for it, because she’s obsessed with Dr. Suess.”

The couple will have plenty of exciting family trips to plan, too! Linda and Drew have officially welcomed a new son, Parker James, born May 2022.

Jonathan and Zooey Deschanel have reached major milestones since starting their relationship in 2019. Jonathan is now step-dad to Zooey’s two kids and the two bought and renovated their dream home in Los Angeles earlier this year. Congrats to the happy couple!

“Drew actually is handy,” says Jonathan. “Most people don’t know this. He chooses not to do a lot of the dirty work, he doesn’t like it, he likes real estate. But when we started our business, Drew did everything with me, we were both in there together, so he knows how to do all that stuff.”

2023 has been a big year for the Scott brothers! Not only have they won Best Hosts, Lifestyle for Property Brothers: Forever Home at the Canadian Screen Awards, but the duo took the stage for the January 21 season premiere of Saturday Night Live. Talk about a grand opening!
