The Real Housewives of Orange County‘s
Kelly Dodd is ready for a change of scenery, and has placed her stunning beachfront estate on the market. Listed at a hefty $5.7 million, take a peek inside a magnificent mansion where lavish meets luxury.
Million-Dollar Reno
Built in 1996, the five-bedroom, six-bathroom home boasts a whopping 4,370 square feet of luxurious living space, and underwent a massive renovation that required tearing the place “down to the studs,” Dodd told People. “I sunk a million dollars into the house so it is top, top quality.”
Indoor-Outdoor
The home, which overlooks Corona Del Mar Beach in the heart of the O.C., has been designed to integrate indoor and outdoor living with features such as this rooftop deck that looks out at the California coastline.
Beach Chic
The design is described in the listing as “opulent, beach chic,” evident in the spacious, open living room, with disappearing wall sliders that open to the exterior deck, creating a seamless flow between indoors and outdoors.
Fireplace
This modern gas fireplace offers cozy warmth, along with a built-in flatscreen TV.
Open and Airy
“The open and airy floor plan flows throughout the main living area and disappearing wall sliders transition seamlessly onto expansive decks for entertaining guests and family,” notes the listing.
High End
Among the high-end features throughout the home are French oak floors and cabinetry, and stone finishes.
Kitchen
The kitchen boasts a unique tile backsplash and opens to a bar-style outdoor eating area in order to take full advantage of that amazing view.
More of the Kitchen
The feel is chic yet casual in the white-on-white kitchen, accented by a patterned eating bar featuring faux fur-topped stools.
Top of the Line
The kitchen also features top-of-the line appliances. “I have a La Cornue stove,” Dodd tells People of her stove, pictured. “I have a Wolf steamer – so it can steam your vegetables, and your meat, and make your pastries – a convection oven and a steam oven.”
Dining Room
The white-on-white dining room opens to the living room and the kitchen, with those disappearing sliders offering access to the adjacent outdoor deck.
Designed by Dodd
Dodd wound up doing much of the interior decorating herself. “I had a designer in the beginning but then he ended up charging us, like, $90,000 for no reason, and I didn’t like his designs so I fired him,” shares Dodd. “And I took it from there.”
Cozy Nook
This cozy nook features built-in shelving and cabinets, offering a prime place to display family photos and objets d’art.
Overlooking the Beach
One of the home’s numerous decks, overlooking the beach and offering a perfect spot to take in the glorious sunset view.
Deck
Outdoor living doesn’t get more glamourous than this!
The View
As beautiful as Dodd’s home is inside, it’s what’s outside that’s the real star of the show.
Mirrored Cabinets
This bathroom is equipped with mirrored cabinetry, along with a deep soaker tub and glass-doored walk-in shower. “I just love the all white,” noted Dodd.
Relaxing Tub
The vintage-style stone tub is the centrepiece of the master bathroom.
Killer Closet
Dodd’s closet is to die for, and she knows it. “My closet is unbelievable,” she admitted of the space, which includes “a hundred drawers,” as well as a bar and its own deck.
More of the Closet
“My favourite room probably would be my closet,” she told The Daily Dish. “My closet, it doesn’t do justice on camera. It looks bigger in real life. My dream was to have a washer and dryer in my closet, put that in there with the folding table, built-in hampers, and LED lights everywhere, so it kind of looks like a boutique.”
Stunning Staircase
A glass-panelled staircase connects the home’s floors, accented by a pair of stunning chandeliers.
Elevator
In addition to the staircase, all the home’s levels can also be accessed via this discreetly hidden elevator.
Ready to Reno
So what’s next for Dodd after she sells? She’s got some ideas, but admitted it will probably involve another reno – by choice. “The whole thing was so much fun for me,” she said of her remodel. “I kind of want to do it again.”
