Whenever Bryan and I are filming, there are always moments that aren’t necessarily shown in the final edit that can make our day. The people we work with are some of my favourite people, and so there are often instances that have us roaring with laughter or lead to engaging discussions. Here are some of my favourite behind-the-scenes photos that capture what it’s like on set.
Sarah Baeumler has an eye for all things design. She stars in Home to Win and co-hosts Bryan Inc. alongside Bryan.
Bryan the Goof Ball
Bryan is often the clown on set. Although always professional, when a scene needs to get done, he knows when it’s the right time to lighten the mood and inject a bit of comic relief. It can get stressful on-set when time is against us, so having these moments of laughter can have a big impact during long shoot days.
Friendly Banter
I like this one. Bryan is being playful with the breeze block and I’m not even flinching. I think this image says a lot about our professional and personal relationship: Complete trust and many laughs – that pretty much sums us up!
Propped Up
Bryan cannot resist an opportunity to use a tool or piece of equipment as a prop. This one shows him doing his best Harry Potter impression, and I am completely unaware. This photo also displays the fact that filming shows isn’t our only venture; keeping the other strands of our business going is always running in the background.
The People
We get to work with some of the greatest people while filming. Our crew is fantastic, and the contractors have been with us for a long time. Our electrical contractor Paul (pictured here) is a real character, and certainly adds flavour to the set. He’s a hoot!
True Affection
I really like this image, and the memory of it being early on in the filming process during the first season of Bryan Inc. I think it showcases the relationship between Bryan and I, and our true love for one another. Mush mush.
Classic Behaviour
This photo is a classic. It was taken during the filming of House of Bryan: In the Sticks when the house was still in the framing process. This takes me back and again shows how Bryan is trying to lighten up the mood.
Agree to Disagree
Although this image was not taken when Bryan and I were in disagreement, I think it perfectly sums up those times during filming when our paths are pointing in different directions. It doesn’t happen often, but there have been times when the stress of filming has taken its toll and we have taken it out on each other. This represents those moments. Here are 8 Design Debates Bryan and Sarah Don’t Always Agree On.
Parent Duty
The moments on-set when we get to work with the children are great fun. These shoot days are always a little more hectic, but they are some of the best. I hope the children look back at them as fondly as we do!
Client Love
I like this photo a lot. Firstly, I have fond memories of working with this client, and I loved the way the space turned out. But I think it also represents Bryan and myself when it comes to our love of children and how we gravitate towards them, whether they’re ours or not!
Hugs and Kisses
I just love this one. I think it shows, again, what Bryan and I are all about, and not taking ourselves too seriously on set.
The Reveal
Some of my favourite memories of working on the shows is seeing the clients’ faces when their new space is revealed. What you see on camera is their true reaction to the renovated space, and watching people cry with joy and be so thankful truly warms the heart. Check out this Bryan Inc. reveal here!
Things to Come
This is a new image, but one that shows all of us in our new home in the Bahamas for the coming months. Looking back at the past is fun and always important, but we like to look forward as well, and our latest project is something completely different.
