Sarah’s House: A Traditional Farmhouse

On entry, it’s clear this home is all about comfort in a country home. 

Sarah committed to the farmhouse trend with classic red doors, antique decor and cozy rugs. 

A powder room off the mud room packs a bold wallpaper with touches of the red used on the doors. A gorgeous mirror and light pendant bring a little luxe to the tiny space.

Sarah took an old brass ball from an auction and converted it into an unbelievable pendant light fixture that casts a gorgeous splash of light against the wallpaper. 

Sarah took a classic approach to this bedroom and went for gorgeous quilts on a beautiful brass bed frame. 

Sarah mixes antique pieces with interesting fabric and furniture with vibrant updates, like this painted side chair. 

Without closets, Sarah gets creative with additional storage in this built-in bench. 

Sarah proves there is such a thing as an elegant farmhouse bathroom. By mixing older, wood furniture with elegant sconces and a beautiful vanity mirror, this bathroom looks comfortable and refined.

Sarah carries the butter yellow on the mirror frame over the sink through to the bathtub and window curtains, creating warmth in this gorgeous bathroom. 

Sarah creates height in this sloped-ceiling bedroom by breaking up the colours and keeping the top half and ceiling a creamy shade.

To add elegance to the guest room, Sarah finds an antique chandelier, has the wiring updated, and hangs it above the bed. 

A lack of closet space was a problem throughout several bedrooms, but Sarah made up for it with gorgeous chests of drawers. 

Decorating a kids’ room is a great opportunity to have a little fun and opt for bright colours. 

Sarah extends the gorgeous view by carrying through elements of nature, like the printed curtains and pillows. 

Although designed for a boy, by decorating with a green, cream and brown scheme, the bedroom feels neutral and inviting. 

Sarah suggests decorating a kids’ room with your own taste in mind. Don’t overdo the kid theme, because kids grow up!

Sarah decorates the kids’ room with pieces that’ll look great no matter the age of the kid, but adds touches that speak to the little girl who’ll have this bedroom.

Sarah found a gorgeous four-poster bed and bedspread while hunting at an antique market.

Sarah gave the set of stairs a cheeky touch with decorative numbers to count steps!

The family room was a central focus for Sarah’s designs. It had to create warmth, and give her family a place to socialize, read and relax. 

If you don’t have a room for an office, create a work space in the corner of your living room, and keep the decor consistent between the two areas. 

The living room was so large, it was broken up into distinct areas and focal points. 

The living room showed off a collection of gorgeous furniture, like this unbelievable grandfather clock. 

Before decorating, Sarah considers the views as you walk into each room. When looking into the dining area, the walkway is framed by brick and a beautiful wallpaper print. 

Sarah keeps the dining room comfortable and casual with wicker chairs.

There’s no end to the possibilities when it comes to decorating. These corner pieces bring added beauty to the dining room doorway.
