If anyone deserves a beautiful bedroom it’s you. After all, you are the master of your household. And if you have kids, you know that it’s equally important to have a relaxing “adult” space for you and your partner to retreat to together after a long day. So how do you achieve that dreamy escape? Jillian Harris has a few ideas. Check out this master bedroom — complete with a walk-in closet and ensuite — that she created for Heather & Dan on the most recent episode of Love It Or List It Vancouver. By Amber Dowling

Welcome Home
This bright and spacious room is made even more so with natural lighting and warm colours. Of course having a large space to work with never hurts.
Juliet Balcony
No morning is complete without a moment on a custom balcony for two. Alternatively, this is a romantic spot to share a bottle of wine or bubbly before bedtime.
Panel it Out
You don’t need to bulk the space up with a crazy headboard. Instead Jillian kept a modern look by inserting wall panels to give the room definition and texture.
Mood Lighting
We love this simple but elegant light fixture that adds a romantic flair. Add some dramatic throw pillows for a little colour and we basically want to lounge around here all day.
Simple Sides
A simple but beautiful bedside table adorned with a sleek lamp and a couple of accent books keeps the space flowing but functional. We also love the unique vase and matching pet bed.
Reading Nook
On the other side of the bed is a simple arm chair and throw pillow to create a cozy little reading nook. Because sometimes you just want a space to chill with your latest novel or magazine.
Breakfast in Bed
This little serving tray is perfect for tea or coffee in bed on those rare mornings you actually get to indulge yourself.
Playing Dress-Up
Putting on makeup is so much easier with a vanity. But most vanities take up extra space. Not this one — a simple table, chair and small mirror placed along one of the smaller walls only adds to the overall ambiance.
Pretty Jars
Of course if you want to go the extra mile, displaying a few unique jars or pots alongside a simple bouquet of flowers adds some simple elegance.
A Beautiful Ensuite
We love the modern look when it’s paired with a country classic colour like robin’s egg blue. Jillian certainly made the combo work in this ensuite.
Double Sink
Dual sinks with simple faucets are sleek and elegant. Plus they mean no more arguing with your partner over who gets to brush their teeth first.
Brass Love
These upgraded knobs are the perfect colour to keep the blue feeling fresh and updated.
Brass Accents
Of course Jillian went all out with several extra details, such as these birds on the bathtub ledge. It’s details like these that help the ensuite flow and feel put together.
Tidy Tiles
Gleaming white tiles are always your best friend when it comes to a bathroom — these ones are modern and sleek, creating a freshly renovated feel.
A Dream Shower
A bench and various shower-heads combine to make this our dream shower. We could spend hours in here!
Soaker Tub
This awesome tub is beautifully shaped, which makes it perfect for soaking in to wash the stress away. Bonus points that it’s big enough for two.
Finer Details
The soap dish and several other accents keep with that beautiful brass finish, creating a luxurious space.
Another Retreat
The beautiful wallpaper coupled with these awesome tea light sconces make the tub area feel more like a spa than a regular old ensuite bath.
Sliding Doors
By attaching a sliding door to the closet Jillian not only freed up more space, but she played some more with those modern touches. The frosted finish pairs so nicely with the modern rod, does it not?
Awkward Spaces
What do you do with a weird vaulted ceiling like this one? You incorporate it into the design, of course. Just look how nicely those drawers fit in here.
Lovely Light
Windows always make a room feel bigger than it is, so allowing the natural light to shine through with a minimal cover like this one completely brightens up the closet.
An Organizer’s Dream
We love all the options for storage here — no more going crazy searching through the closet for that perfect thing to wear. Everything is organized and in its place.
Finishing Touches
Finally, upgraded hardware and a few token decor items combine to make this the walk-in closet of our dreams. Now, if only we could get Jillian to come and makeover our own master bedrooms.
