This kitchen may be small, but it sure is mighty! We may not have increased the footprint of the space, but we increased the functionality and aesthetics-with help from our friendly design rules: repetition and balance. The hexagon backsplash was echoed in the hexagon floor tiles and we balanced out the bold blue hues used throughout with neutral cabinets. By replacing the tall window with a shorter one, we were able to run base cabinets underneath which house the dishwasher and a beautiful big sink so you can enjoy a view of the yard while washing dishes! And to create the sensation of extra space and symmetry, we opted to go with a stainless steel hood vent rather than installing an integrated vent-cabinet. This also allowed us to run the backsplash up the wall to create a beautiful feature!
