Actress Tamera Mowry, who you may remember from the teen sitcom Sister, Sister, shares two irresistibly stylish spaces customized with the help of Oilo Studio for the most important co-stars in her life: her kids, Ariah and Aden.
Floral Fun in Ariah’s Room
Tamera’s 23-month-old daughter Ariah “is a little lady who knows what she likes (watch out world!), and she adores anything pink,” wrote the actress on her website. So she weaved the pastel hue into the space with the help of the creative team at Oilo Studio. The mandate was to create a light, bright and feminine aesthetic. Done, done and done! Drawing the eye is a gorgeous spring-y handmade mural from Etsy’s Anewalldecor. The pink padded crib is from Newport Cottages.
Covetable Crib
Simple, super stylish pieces add up to one sophisticated nursery. The coordinating crib sheets (find them here) are picked up in the pillow for cohesion, and the large happy plant is a nice way to bring in a natural element.
Easy Glider
Hello, stunner! A crisp white nursery chair sports a mile-high seat cushion made for mom to kick up her feet after a long day (and night).
Furniture with Staying Power
Set against a blush pink wall, the change pad can easily be whisked away when Ariah grows out of diapers. What’s left? A knockout, handmade Moorish chest (find it here) with intricate, inlaid detailing that she can use into her tween years and beyond. The gold-leaf bevelled accent mirror from Neiman Marcus rounds out the look.
All in the Details
Stacked books in pastel hues plus a posy of fresh white roses equals on-point styling. Searching for the perfect pink paint for your little one’s nursery? Tamera went with Sherwin-Williams’ “Rosily”.
The Lap of Luxury
Yes, those are three different soft floor coverings, because padding is everything in a nursery, and who doesn’t love sinking their toes into fuzzy things? (Though Ariah seems more content on mom’s lap – for now.) Our favourite piece is the hand-knotted wool rug from Lulu & Georgia that boasts vintage appeal. The glam gold side table from Wayfair brings the bling.
Pattern Playtime in Aden’s Room
Oilo Studio also brought their magic to Aden’s room. A muted colour palette of blue, grey and white “allowed me to add more playful textures in the room, without the space becoming too busy,” wrote the mom on her website. The graphic wallpaper from Serena & Lily is a lovely way to introduce pattern. We love how its herringbone detail is picked up in the Dash & Albert area rug from Wayfair.
Shelf This Idea
The great thing about this etagere is its versatility. When Aden grows, he can swap out the stuffed toys for teenage knickknacks. Find the bookcase here.
Create a Cozy Hideaway
Even non-parents know kids love to tuck away into enclosed spaces for play and privacy. Aden gets to have his alone time in this totally adorable designer teepee (find it here).
Take Shelter
Tamera says her favourite element in the room is the teepee. “When I was a kid, my siblings and I loved to make forts. My son is going through this same phase right now,” she wrote.
Big Boy Bed
A queen-size bed might seem a little much for a four-year-old boy’s room, but having to switch up from a single is more work in the long run. Besides, the bed (find it here), with its gorgeous grain detailing, ties into the other elements in the room, including those amazing pendants and the tufted storage bench. The custom artwork is by Kellie Bowen.
Basket Bonanza
Ideal and inexpensive, baskets are the best catchall for sundry kids’ stuff. Mr. Octopus and Masked Raccoon can’t be expected to live just anywhere, you know.
That’s a Wrap
Tamera, we’re as thrilled as you look after touring your kids’ gorgeous spaces. Consider us inspired!
