Immerse yourself in the wild and wonderful Pacific West Coast at this self described “laidback luxury” Airbnb. Ucluelet, British Columbia is where you can find the Saltwood beach house, take in the beautiful Pacific Rim National Park Reserve, and enjoy the surfing and storm watching that the region is world famous for. Take a tour of the spectacular Saltwood Airbnb, and prepare yourself to hit “check availability.”
Heaven’s Kitchen
If Hell’s Kitchen exists, then welcome to Heaven’s Kitchen. The Saltwood was beautifully designed by Josh Harvey, and every angle is a piece of art. The chef’s kitchen is a dream. It’s fully equipped with state-of-the-art appliances, so you can whip up culinary delights while taking in the glorious views of the Pacific Ocean.
The View From Here
The Saltwood was designed to deliver dramatic ocean views, and the floor-to-ceiling windows do just that. The living room is beautifully appointed with uber cozy contemporary furniture assembled around a cast iron gas fireplace. The contemporary polished concrete floors provide a blank slate for the luxurious furnishings in the Saltwood.
Dream Big
The main room features a king bed with views of the surrounding wilderness and Pacific Ocean. The bed is dressed to the nines with Brooklinen sheets so you can rest assured, you’re slumbering in style.
Outfitted Queen
The second bedroom features a queen bed with— you guessed it — Brooklinen sheets. The forest green bed frame is a nod to the lush greenery encompassing the property, so you’re never far from Mother Nature. The fabric bed frame, patterned rug and rattan light fixture provide the perfect amount of texture to amp up the coziness.
Shower Power
The bathroom features a beautiful view right into the wilderness, so you can have a forest shower in the comfort of your own personal spa. The concrete floor and vanity millwork provides continuity from the rest of the Airbnb, right into the bathroom. No detail was spared in the design of this incredible vacation home.
Sent from the Heavens
The outdoor space surrounding the Saltwood is absolute heaven. On one side of the Saltwood is the Pacific Rim National Park Reserve and on the other is the Pacific Ocean, teeming with wild marine life and crashing waves. While the floating concrete steps and minimalist design of the outdoor space is beautiful it takes a backseat in order to emphasize the attention on the natural beauty of the great outdoors.
Deck Envy
The floor-to-ceiling windows and sliding glass doors allow guests to enjoy integrated indoor/outdoor living, and the covered patio means it can be used all year round. Our favourite feature is the clear glass partition so that nothing interferes with those priceless views.
On the Rocks
There’s nothing like al fresco dining, and although we’ve gushed over the interiors, we think this table is the best seat in the house.
Coasting
Did we mention the coastal rainforest? Located on the Pacific Ocean and right on the Wild Pacific Trail, guests have access to the ocean for calming walks along the rocky shore.
Amenities Aplenty
A very special feature of the Saltwood is its views, but guests are lucky to catch glorious sunsets from the hot tub located on the covered patio. This Airbnb truly prioritizes relaxation. There’s nothing to do here but sit back, relax, and enjoy the view!
