It’s been quite a year for Mina Starsiak Hawk! While we’ve always known (and loved!) the Good Bones’ host for her strength and straightforward approach when it comes to home renovations, this year she’s stepped up to some major challenges and changes in her career – and in her personal life. She’s a new mom who just gave birth to baby #2 (you have to see the pictures we have for you!). The new arrival comes after navigating the ups-and-downs of a difficult fertility journey. Career-wise, she’s taking on total home transformations and stepping up to new business roles as her mom transitions into semi-retirement. Let’s catch up with Mina as we prepare to see it all on an incredible new season of Good Bones.

And Baby Makes Four!
Mina gave birth to Charolotte Drew on September 16, 2020 with her husband Steve Hawk by her side. Jack, the couple’s first kiddo, now has a little sister. Congratulations poured in from family and friends including Jasmine Roth, the Property Brothers and other HGTV stars.
Charlotte Drew Hawk
Mina’s a new mom (again)! The Good Bones host announced the news via a post to her Instagram account which read: “She’s here!!! Charolotte Drew Hawk.” A big congratulations to Mina and her family.
Taking on a New Role
In her business, Mina has stepped up in a big way as well. Now that her mother, Karen Laine (who is the co-founder of their renovation company, Two Chicks & A Hammer) has retired from the day-to-day operations, Mina has taken the reigns and the lead. We’re looking forward to seeing how this plays out in Season 5 of Good Bones!

Say Hello to Two Chicks District Co.
This summer, Mina also realized another of her business dreams with the opening of Two Chicks District Co. – a retail store featuring home decor and furnishings in downtown Indianapolis.
Showing Her Strength
Motherhood and family have been huge priorities for Mina in the past few years. While Mina and her husband, Steve Hawk, are already parents to their much-loved son, Jack, they wanted to grow their family. While they had difficulty conceiving their second child, Mina showed her trademark tenacity and inner strength – and shared the challenging journey with her fans and supporters.

Fertility Struggles
After their first attempt at in vitro fertilization (IVF) was not successful, Mina and Steve faced incredibly difficult news: Mina’s doctor felt that they had a less than 1 per cent chance of conceiving a sibling for Jack. After considering multiple options for their family’s future, Mina and Steve decided to try an intrauterine insemination (IUI) fertility treatment. Though the chances of getting pregnant were still slim, they attempted the procedure. They received some surprising news just 12 days later…
Baby Number Two on the Way!
The good news? With the help of the IUI, Mina and Steve successfully conceived their second baby. You can see more of Mina’s journey – and the incredible moments of joy when they find out – here.
Coming This Fall
While the process certainly wasn’t easy, Mina and her family were looking forward to baby Charlotte’s arrival in September 2020. The gender of the baby hadn’t been announced at the time but but the colour of the nursery was revealed; it’s Sherwin-Williams’ Rhinestone.
Sweet Tooth
While Mina’s family continues to grow, her relationship with hubby Steve, got off to a bit of a rocky start. The couple’s first date was at a baseball game. Mina wasn’t impressed with Steve’s lack of attention but he redeemed himself on subsequent dates. The couple tied the knot on June 11, 2016. The down-to-earth couple substituted a traditional wedding cake with 400 donuts! A sweet tooth seems to run in the family.
Rising HGTV Star
Mina has become a rising star and has participated in some of HGTV’s biggest hit shows including A Very Brady Renovation and Rock to Block where she had the chance to work alongside Jasmine Roth, Alison Victoria and Leanne Ford.
Hometown Hero
Although Mina’s profile has grown, she still remains dedicated to revitalizing her hometown of Indianapolis, one property at a time.
She’s Found the Good Bones
This season on Good Bones, Mina’s flexing her home-reno muscles and more than 10 years of experience by taking on some seriously stunning home transformations that show that run-down houses can be revitalized – into incredible homes.
